This course complements the Chaos Theory course by exploring the intimate relationship between chaos theory and fractals. Fractals are shapes or processes whose structures repeat ad infinitum, such that the tiniest parts resemble the original whole. Fractal theory is used in a variety of processes to create the latest ultra-realistic, computer-generated movies and video games.

Come with me as we go to the state that is one of the most attractive for tourists. In the past, I have taken you to Memphis and west Tennessee, and Nashville and middle Tennessee; now we will look at a completely different part of the state- whose history is forged by the Appalachian and Smoky Mountains. Knoxville and Chattanooga are the main cities- but it is the country and back roads that are fascinating. Again, for this one, just head north on I-75.
